Google has finally announced the much-awaited Android P OS, that will power billions of smartphones on the I/O 2018 developer’s conference. However, the OS is still in nascent stage (beta) and Google is expected to roll out a final build of the newer operating system in the vicinity of August 2018. For the first time, Google has partnered with other smartphone OEMs to offer a robust beta testing programme for the Android P. Google has partnered with the OEMs like Xiaomi, Vivo, Nokia, OnePlus, and Sony, Oppo and Essential to offer the beta build of Android P OS. This will ensure that the Android P will run on any given set of hardware combinations.

If you have a first gen or a second gen Pixel smartphone, then head towards this website and sign up for the beta programme. Make sure to login using the same email id that has been used to sign up for the programme and you will receive a prompt to install the beta version of the Google’s upcoming operating system. How to install Android P beta version on non-Google/Pixel smartphones?

This is a bit tricky process and each smartphone maker has their own set of instructions. Unlike Pixel smartphones, one has to manually flash the OS by following the set of instructions mentioned on their respective websites. The websites also mention the bugs and hiccups present on the current build, which will help the user to decide to go with the beta version or to stay with the stable Android 8.1 Oreo build (Yes, all these phones are running on the Google’s latest Android 8.1 OS).
